Tiki is not a dog with many fears. She doesn’t worry about thunder or men in hats or coyotes howling right behind the house.
But recently Tiki saw something that caused her to bark in a way we had never heard. High up in a tree in the woods was something she couldn’t identify.
It was the remains of a helium balloon. A dinosaur balloon.
Soon John had his snake tongs (one of those things we have on hand just in case a snake decides to relocate into our house) and had the offending balloon down from the tree, all under Tiki’s supervision. As soon as the balloon was down, Tiki was on the case:
Yesterday we walked through that part of the woods, and Tiki was checking the very same tree to make sure there was no reappearance of the dinosaur. We’re working on clearing a walking trail through that part of the woods. It will be named Dinosaur Trail, of course.
