We had a very busy weekend at Wonder Pet Expo! On Thursday, we drove up to Dallas so we could be there to film a 4-1/2 minute shot on Good Morning Texas on Friday morning. I appeared with this super cute puppy, Ellen, from Hound Haven:
After the shoot, we headed downtown to visit the Texas State Fair, which was in its final weekend. On the way, we saw a huge plume of black smoke…which turned out to be Big Tex burning! Big Tex is the symbol of the State Fair; his motorized mouth apparently caught fire and by the time we got to the fair, all that was left was one hand!
After a few hours at the fair, we headed back to Market Hall to meet up with Rachel and Preston from Preston Speaks, and we started assembling our shared booth. Rachel had a display of their great new line of t-shirts:
…and we set up our Barkonomics book and our The Dog and Cat Rescue Coloring & Activity Book:
Of course, we did everything under Preston’s watchful eye; he served as our official greeter:
Wonder Pet Expo Dallas kicked off early Saturday morning with lots of rescues:
…including this Newfie who was one of the first dogs adopted at the show! (His tripod buddy is available for adoption from Lone Star Pyrs and Paws Rescue):
Preston got to take a few minutes away from the booth to try out the free agility course:
And we had the chance to meet even more puppies!
It was definitely a fun and fast weekend!
