Whitney Cummings Helps Movement to #SaveThemAll

She’s tickled our funny bones as an actress and as the co-creator of the hit CBS series 2 Broke Girls, and now funny lady Whitney Cummings has touched our hearts for striking a pose for a paws cause alongside the rescue dogs who never fail to put a smile on her face.

The comic star is the latest in a long line of animal-loving luminaries who have helped to focus the public’s attention on the option of pet adoption through Best Friends Animal Society’s “I Saved my Best Friend” campaign. Other famous fans of Fidos and felines who have shown their support for the initiative include actress Amanda Seyfried, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, multi-Emmy Award winner Allison Janney, Shameless star Emmy Rossum, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren and Under the Dome cast member Rachelle Lefevre.

“I’m always surprised when someone is impressed that I rescued my dogs, because quite frankly, they rescued me,” the comedienne stated. “People look at me like I’m some hero when it’s literally the least I can do. More than three million dogs and cats die in shelters each year. That statistic is unacceptable to me,and quite frankly, embarrassing to our culture. We can do better. Shelter dogs are as beautiful, as sweet, and as loving as dogs you can buy from breeders– and as an added bonus, adoption fees are fare less expensive. I support Best Friends and their work to promote shelter pet adoption because we should and we can Save Them All.”
