Fixer Upper Fans: Grab Your Dog + Visit Magnolia Market

If you’re crying over your shiplap today at yesterday’s announcement that HGTV’s Fixer Upper will come to an end after the upcoming fifth season, it may be time to plan a trip to Waco, Texas.

This summer, my Mom and I had the chance to run up to Waco for another visit to the very dog-friendly Magnolia Market. We first visited the incredibly popular market right before Christmas, and we headed back to Waco early in the summer for a look, not only at the Market…

…but at several other locations that Fixer Upper fans will be familiar with including the Magnolia House

The bed and breakfast, located in nearby McGregor (where my Mom grew up and where we lived while my Dad was stationed overseas), is available for booking…but you have to book the entire house.

From there we headed on into Waco to the Magnolia Market; you can’t miss the silos or the massive structures of this historic cottonseed mill…

Bring your dog along; both the store and the grounds are dog-friendly…

And when it’s time for a meal, you’ll find an entire line of food trucks…

…and a Texas-sized picnic area…

The store is massive, and your dog is welcome inside as well. Take the weather into consideration on your visit; we toured the grounds, the garden center (don’t miss the gardens, redone seasonally), and the food truck area before heading inside to the air-conditioning in the afternoon…

After our visit to the Magnolia Market, we did a drive-by of original Magnolia store (at 3801 Bosque Blvd.), now a Magnolia office…

…then we headed to Harp Design. Viewers will be familiar with Clint Harp’s hand-crafted furniture and accessories seen on Fixer Upper. You can shop for home goods and furniture in the store…

…and catch sight of the next door Harp House (redone on Fixer Upper), also available for overnight stays…

The Gaines’ have brought incredible attention and tourism to Waco, and we’re looking forward to bringing you a look at their upcoming Waco restaurant, Magnolia Table (although I’m afraid I’ll always think of it as the Elite Cafe, “where the elite meet to eat.”) Stay tuned!
