Westminster Winner to Sail on Queen Mary 2

The 2017 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is underway, and while one fortunate Fido will no doubt be floating on a cloud when he or she wins the coveted Best in Show title, the event’s top dog will also have the opportunity to cruise aboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.

A sponsor of this year’s dog show, Cunard is offering an invitation to 2017’s reigning Rover and his or her pet parent to set sail on an upcoming Transatlantic Crossing– a cruise that can also be embarked upon by other tail-waggers and their human traveling buddies.

Featuring a pet-friendly policy since the Britannia launched in 1840, Cunard is the only cruise line to offer both dogs and cats passage on the company’s Transatlantic Crossings.

From Hollywood star Rin Tin Tin to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s and Elizabeth Taylor’s respective pampered pups and Britain’s Got Talent 2012 winner Pudsey, over the years Cunard has carried many high-profile pets on the high seas.

The canine companions of today’s passengers also receive celebrity treatment on the Queen Mary 2, which doubled the size of its kennels in 2016 as part of the flagship’s $132 million renovation.

Passengers with paws can also enjoy a new pet playground and an extended outdoor area for dog walking complete with a lamppost from Liverpool and a fire hydrant from New York.

Couture-conscious canines can also look dapper during the cruise thanks to Cunard’s partnership with Barbour, a British sportswear brand which offers swank accessories for Spots to wear on their sojourn, including jackets, collars and leashes.

Internet Star Visits Pier 94

A high-profile pup attending this year’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, Internet sensation Wally the Welsh Corgi (seen in the photo below) paid a visit to Pier 94 to meet some of his two-and-four-legged fans.
