As sheriff’s deputy Shane Walsh he fought zombies for two seasons on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead, and now actor Jon Bernthal has stepped into his real life role as an animal advocate to encourage dog devotees to join in the fight against injustice toward both canines who often find themselves hounded by prejudice, and the people who love them.
A doting Dad to Pit Bulls Boss and Venice, the actor is using his star wattage to shine a spotlight on The Majority Project, a campaign created by Animal Farm Foundation which shows through a series of photos that Pit Bull guardians are just the same as other families with four-legged friends.
Pet parents of Pit Bulls can show their support for he paws cause by visiting The Majority Project, printing and personalizing an “I am the MAJORITY” sign, then proudly displaying the proclamation in a photo alongside their canine companion. A selection of snapshots that are submitted will be chosen to appear in an upcoming PSA food The Majority Project, which will star Jon Berthal.
Champions of the underdog, the Animal Farm Foundation has rescued and re-homed and Pit Bull-type dogs since the 1980’s. For a look at areas across the country where Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is still in effect, visit www.animalfarmfoundation.org/pages/BSL-Map.
