Birthdays are traditionally a time for receiving presents, but this December a celebration of television icon Bob Barker’s 90th year will give the gift of a better tomorrow to homeless pets.
On December 12, 2013 Fido-and feline-loving fans of The Price is Right can tune in to watch the animal-loving legend “Come on down” to the set of the top-rated daytime show in a commemoration of his personal milestone, which will air as part of the program’s Pet Adoption Week.
In honor of Barker’s dogged devotion to paws causes, beginning December 9th the following stars that shine on the CBS network will help to shine a spotlight on companion animals in need of forever families as they take on the roles of guests models for the day:
December 9th: Melissa Ordway, who TV viewers know as Abbey Newman on the daytime drama The Young and The Restless
December 10th: Brandon McMillan, animal trainer and star of the Saturday morning series Lucky Dog
December 13th: Lawrence Saint-Victor, who portrays Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful
Bob Barker, who signed off each episode with a reminder to “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered” recently stepped in front of the camera with his successor Drew Carey for a CBS Cares PSA, reminding potential pet parents to choose the option of shelter adoption.
