Do you love Starbucks? Your dog might, too! A Starbucks Puppuccino (some people mistakenly call it a Puppachino or a Starbucks Pup Cup) is a free dog treat on the chain’s Secret Menu–and it’s just for dogs. We’ve fetched the info you need, whether you are ordering a Puppuccino from your favorite barista or making your dog one at home!
What is a Puppuccino?
A Starbucks Puppuccino is a small cup of whipped cream (no coffee!) that dogs love. It is part of the secret menu at Starbucks (you won’t find it on the posted menu), and there’s no charge.
Although some people call this a pup cup, Starbucks calls it a Puppuccino.
Can Dogs Eat Whipped Cream?
Whipped cream should be enjoyed in moderation to prevent tummy troubles.
If you have a small dog or a dog with a sensitive stomach, you may want to allow your dog to just enjoy a few licks of the Puppuccino before taking it home for refrigeration to enjoy later (or ask your server for just half of a pup cup!)
We generally get one Puppuccino for our two dogs to share.
What is the Cost of a Starbucks Puppuccino?
A Puppuccino is free!
We always order a Puppuccino with a paid item but, if you’re just coming by for a Starbucks dog treat only, be sure to tip your server!

Are All Starbucks Dog Friendly?
Although all the Starbucks we’ve visited have dog-friendly patios, like most dog-friendly businesses with multiple locations, rules can vary from location to location.
Starbucks locations with no patio (such as a Starbucks located inside a grocery store) are not dog-friendly.
Other locations may be limited by local ordinances so give your Starbucks a call before heading over.
Where Can My Dog Go at Starbucks?
Although Starbucks is a dog-friendly restaurant, your dog is restricted to enjoying the restaurant on the patio only. Only service dogs are permitted indoors.

How to Make a Pup Cup at Home
Can’t make it to Starbucks? It’s quick and easy to literally whip up your own pup cup at home using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
You can use canned whipped cream–or make your own homemade whipped cream in just minutes.
You’ll want to use 4 ounces–or a half cup–of heavy cream or heavy whipping cream (which has slightly less fat). Be sure to CHILL the cream before whipping. Colder cream will whip much lighter and fluffier (not that your dog will care!)
Unlike whipping cream for use in human recipes, leave out the vanilla and sugar–you are serving just whipped cream!
If you really want to give your dog a sweet treat, add half a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses to four ounces of heavy cream.

How to Make a Dairy Free Pup Cup
Want to make a dairy-free version for lactose intolerant dogs? Substitute canned coconut milk instead of heavy cream. Chill the canned coconut milk overnight then whip it using a mixer for just a couple of minutes. (You can also use coconut milk and create a Pumpkin Spiced Latte for your dog!)
Regardless of whether you use heavy cream or coconut, look for medium peaks in the mix–peaks that are slightly floppy but still hold their shape.
Then give your dog his pup cup (remember: not too much!)–and watch his enjoyment!
