Shelter Dogs Prepare for Royal Wedding by Barking “Here Comes the Bride”

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is just around the corner, and romantics and royal watchers of both the two- and four-legged variety are celebrating, including an array of adorable adoptables who have banded together as the Blue Cross Pet Choir to commemorate the couple’s true love with a show of puppy love and feline affection.

Barking a rendition of “Here Comes the Bride” for the future Duchess’s walk through the doors of St. George’s Chapel on May 19th are dogs from the UK charity Blue Cross who are hoping that their special someone will walk through the doors of any Blue Cross rehoming center across the United Kingdom. Among the troupe of talented tail-waggers who crooned the traditional tune are Marley the Beagle and a Jack Russell terrier named Squirrel, while a feline family consisting of Julian, Jill, Janet, Joyce, and their mother Jessica help to add a regal touch to the “music video.”

As Meghan Markle prepares to walk through the doors of St George’s Chapel to marry Prince Harry in what promises to be the most iconic wedding of the year, leading pet charity Blue Cross has released a very special gift for the royals; the world’s first all-animal rendition of Here Comes The Bride featuring dozens of homeless dogs, cats and horses. The track from the ‘Blue Cross Pet Choir’ is available on Blue Cross’s YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/uCDfpBEDlc0.

Although it doesn’t appear as though any dogs or cats will take part in Harry and Meghan’s I do’s, one in 10 Brits have celebrated their own walk down the aisle with a fur baby that they go walkies with, and an estimated 56 percent want to remember their big day with photos and videos that include their furry family members.

Mandy Jones, the Director of Rehoming at Blue Cross, states of the video’s stars: “Each pet seen and heard is desperately looking for their new family and we hope this loving wedding season will help them sing their way into loving new homes.”

The UK charity Blue Cross embarked on its mission of mercy in 1897, and today provides care for canines, cats and other domestic animals in need by uniting adoptables with forever pet parents; educating the public on the topic of proper pet care; and by healing at four Blue Cross Animal Hospitals and several mobile clinics.
