A documentary series that showcases the day to day efforts of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and the touching tales of dogs who have received a second lease on life at the renowned rescue has already won the hearts of 8 million television viewers, and now it also has the chance to win a coveted BAFTA award.
Celebrating the best in British movies, TV, television craft and video games, BAFTA has nominated Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs in the Features category, along with Bank Of Dave, Grand Designs and The Great British Bake Off.
The series, which stars Battersea Dogs and Cats Home ambassador/animal-loving luminary Paul O’Grady (who welcomed a puppy from Battersea into his fur family when filming wrapped on season one), was the recipient of the Best Factual Entertainment title at the National Television Awards in January.
Cameras are currently capturing more stories of a few of the 6,000 dogs cared for by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home each year. The second season of Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs is scheduled to be unleashed on ITV later in 2013.
