Seattle Seahawks’ K.J. Wright Films PSA to End Dog Fighting

Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright is helping to tackle one of the most heart-wrenching topics in the world of animal advocacy– dog fighting.

Teaming up with fellow sports stars Jordan Babineaux (a former safety for the Seahawks) and MMA icon Matt Hume as well as Washington’s Most Wanted host David Rose, Wright recently stepped in front of a camera to film a public service announcement alongside canine co-star Meadow, who has first hand knowledge of the horror the athletes speak of in the PSA.

Tossed from a pickup truck, the box she was had been stuffed into would have been her coffin if not for the kindness of a stranger who found the severely injured American Staffordshire Terrier and dialed 911. Today Meadow’s body is recovering from the multitude of wounds which stand in testament to her days living inside a nightmare, most likely as a bait dog. At the same time, her spirit is also healing thanks to Pasado’s Safe Haven, which is offering a $2,500 reward for the identification and conviction of the man who was seen thoughtlessly throwing Meadow from his vehicle.

Named in loving memory of a donkey who lost his life due to an act of cruelty inflicted upon him by a small band of teenagers, Pasado’s Safe Haven is a non-profit which has been saving our friends with fur and feathers since 1997. The organization investigates crimes of animal cruelty, advocates for more stringent laws to protect those who cannot voice their pain and fear, provides comfort and care to animals who have suffered abuse and strives to find forever homes for animals in need.
