Review: Yogapet Memory Foam Pet Bed

In cold weather, certain moves leave my knee feeling out of sorts, the result of a cracked kneecap years ago, after a fall on the floor of the Bangkok police station (following the sinking of our boat and the loss of our passports. Not the best of travel memories…)

That aching knee means that I’m slow to get up when I’m seated, reluctant to change positions, and less than enthusiastic about the uphill hikes I usually enjoy twice a day with our dogs.

Fortunately through the years I’ve learned which moves to avoid and I know the value of resting that knee. We sleep on a Yogabed , a memory foam bed we reviewed last year. The plush memory foam has been a great help to my knee (and John’s back) thanks to the cradling comfort of the responsive mattress. It’s also a welcome addition to our pet household because of its zip-off washable mattress cover.

Now Yogabed has put that same YogaFoam™ technology which offers the responsive qualities of the material yoga mats are made out of into Yogapet pet beds! Using  3” of the Yogafoam memory foam, the rectangular beds are available in three crate-friendly sizes. Tiki is on a large.

Earlier this year, Tiki was diagnosed with arthritis in her front legs, a condition that has left her limping on some mornings. We control it with glucosamine supplements (and we’re working to trim off some extra weight), and we make sure that, as much as possible, Tiki sleeps on well-padded supportive surfaces. Even after just an hour on the living room floor while watching TV, we can see a difference in her gait after lying on the floor or on a thin mat.

Tiki took right to the Yogapet bed. I love that it’s thick enough to be supportive yet lightweight enough that we can move it from living room to bedroom. I’m also looking forward to using it in our car on our next long car ride, and it’s so portable we can easily carry it into the hotel room for comfort in there as well.

Except for my office, our home has hardwood floors so I was happy to see that the bed features a non-gliding backing so the bed stays put on solid floors:

And, just like its human Yogabed Original equivalent, your dog’s Yogapet comes with a Zip-n-wash, waterproof cover for easy clean up and maintenance.

A big paws up for the Yogapet! I know that Tiki will enjoy her Yogapet as much as we enjoy our Yogabed–and I know it will be helpful in supporting her joints and keeping her active!

We received a Yogapet for our review. As always, we only share products that we use with our own pets and all opinions and statements are entirely our own.
