Review: Woofwerks Leather Dog Collar

Are you looking for a premium leather collar made in the USA? We give Woofwerks, a collar company based in Boston that now has merged with Texas-based Quality Leather Dog Collars, a try!

Collars, collars, collars; we’ve been through quite a few with Irie and Tiki.

During their puppy days, we went through inexpensive collars right and left. The duo was capable of chewing each other’s collars off each other within minutes. For a while there, we were replacing their collars several times a week.

Finally, though, we wised up and started purchasing more expensive, heavy duty collars more capable of withstanding dog play.

Today the benefits of a quality, heavy-duty collar are apparent to us….so we were interested when we received a handsome leather collar from Woofwerks to review.

The company makes a variety of dog-related products including several lines of collars, leashes and leads.

We Try Out the Tucker Collar

We received the “Tucker” which is an all leather collar available in several different colors and sizes.

Named for the company owner’s late Springer who was the inspiration for Woofwerks, the Tucker is made of two layers of vegetable-tanned, English bridle leather stitched together with a third, narrower leather band in a contrasting color on the outside.

The inner band is soft garment-grade leather to provide comfort for the dog’s neck.

The main bands of the Tucker are 1″ wide while the outer band is 1/2″ wide. The collar sports a heavy brass buckle and two brass “D” rings.

The high-quality leather is soft and flexible and should be comfortable right out of the box.

The collar we received is 22″ long and was a good fit for our Irie. The Tucker also comes in two smaller sizes.

The Tucker is a nice-looking, heavy-duty collar which should last a long, long time.

This collar can be a good investment and might be the only collar your dog will ever need.

Paws up for Woofwerks and Quality Leather Dog Collars!
