DogTipper Review: We always carry small training treats with us on our twice-daily dog walks. Our walks are long (30-60 minutes each), and we always stop midway along the walk for a few moments of training.
In the past, I’ve been carrying my treat stash in a very worn Harry Potter waistpack that I bought at the thrift store. (Thankfully we live in the country but the very few neighbors we have probably wonder why a woman my age is wearing a Harry Potter waistpack…)
Last week, though, I received The Pocket 2.0 Treat and Training Pouch to review so I left the waistpack at home. On first glance, I loved the look of the pouch; it’s small and colorful. The seams are well-sewn, and the fabric is substantial while at the same time soft.
The design is simple and yet in its small size (just 5 inches wide, 6 inches long) I found several great features. I attached the pocket pouch to a belt loop using the included carabiner. (There’s also a small loop on the side for hanging your keys, clicker, etc.) The main compartment (for treats) is elasticized and secures with a single large magnetic snap:
The treat opening was plenty large to allow my hand easy access to the treats but the elasticized opening and the magnetic snap kept the treats from spilling out whenever I bent over.
The back of the treat pouch contains a zippered pocket that was perfect for my Blackberry; you could also use it for keys, credit cards, or poop bags:
I haven’t washed the Pocket Pouch yet but it washable on the gentle cycle in cold water (remove the carabiner first) then tumble dry on low.
The Pocket 2.0 Treat & Training Pouch retails for $20 and is sold on Etsy. I give the Pocket 2.0 Treat and Training Pouch a big thumbs up for adding a stylish but very functional touch to my dog walking wardrobe!
