DogTipper Review: The calendar says “Fall” and although the thermometer still says “100 degrees” most days around here, we are looking forward to a new season full of outdoor activities. The (promise of) cooler weather means even longer walks in the woods and down our country road with Irie and Tiki. Just in time for the Fall, we received a new leash system to review: the Quantum Leash designed to quickly adjust to accommodate several different walking styles.
By attaching the carabiner to the appropriate “slot” in the leash’s webbing, the leash can be converted into different lengths. The leash can be be used as a standard 6-foot leash or, by adjusting its attached carabiner, can be converted into:
- a 3-foot training leash
- a tandem leash for walking two dogs
- a “Courier style” over the shoulder leash
- a “Belt style” leash
It’s an ingenious system, and changing the configuration is easy and quick. The webbing and hardware are substantial and appear to be well-made. The padded handle “floats” and can be repositioned depending on how the leash is configured. The Quantum Leash won a 2010 Editor’s Choice Award from Pet Product News International.
We were impressed by the Quantum Leash and think it deserves a paws up for its unique design and rugged construction. The Quantum Leash comes in five different color combinations: black and orange, red and blue, pink and brown, brown and tan, and khaki and charcoal. Our review leash was the black and orange model, an appropriate scheme for the upcoming Fall and Halloween season.
Price: $20 list
Disclosure: We received a Kurgo Quantum Leash from Petco for review; we were not paid for our review and all statements are entirely our own.
