What It Is: Spray on, wipe off shampoo for dogs and cats

DogTipper Review: I have to admit that I don’t wash Irie and Tiki as often as I would like, especially during the winter months. At 80 and 70 pounds, it’s easiest to wash them outdoors and fortunately our weather permits that almost year around…but not quite. I can wash them in the bathtub but that’s a big job and one that I might not get to as soon as needed.

Because of that, I was really interested in learning more about the Gorgeous Dry Dog & Cat Spray Shampoo, a shampoo designed to be sprayed on and wiped off…no rinsing! The shampoo is formulated to moisturize your dog’s skin and coat with aloe vera gel, oat protein (a gentle form of oatmeal), chamomile, lavender and rosemary. The ingredients list is simple. Here’s a list of ingredients from the Bobbi Panter site:

Deionized Water—High quality pure water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate— A cleaning agent from natural coconut alcohols, Cocoamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine (and) Aqua—Enhances foaming, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein—Soothes sensitive skin, Aloe Vera Gel—Moisturizing, Chamomile Extract—Benefits dry or irritated skin, Lavender Extract—Soothes, Rosemary Extract—Conditions and adds sheen. A small amount of preservative is required to protect our natural ingredients.

Notice anything that’s not in the list? You won’t see any sodium chloride–in other words, salt–in any of the Bobbi Panter shampoos. Bobbi Panter designed these shampoos with the help of a chemist to make them salt-free when her dog Bobo needed a shampoo to restore the luster after a round of medication took its toll on her fur and skin. Customizing all of her products to be tear-free as well as non-drying, the company notes that their products are all also safe to use on cats in your home as well as your dogs.

That all sounded wonderful but it was time to put it to the test on Irie and Tiki:

The smell is light and peachy, smelling fresh and clean (not perfumey). Irie didn’t mind the spray at all so I gave it a try on Tiki…

Again, success. Neither dog minded the spray (although, if you have any problems with a pet being frightened by the spray, the Bobbi Panter site suggests you just spray the shampoo on a cloth and wipe down your dog or cat…super simple!)

Both Tiki and Irie smell clean and fresh with a bath that literally took minutes. A big paws up for the Gorgeous Dry Dog & Cat Spray Shampoo by Bobbi Panter!
