Paula Abdul Promotes Adopt, Don’t Shop Campaign

Paula Abdul

As fans of the Fox TV series American Idol get ready to watch the show’s swan song, fans of our four-legged friends are singing the praises of one of the crooning competition’s original judges for her “Straight Up” devotion to helping dogs in need.

A multi-pet parent, the charismatic dancer/choreographer has followed in the footsteps of fellow former American Idol judge Randy Jackson, Priscilla Presley, Sons of Anarchy star Ron Perlman, American Pickers star Mike Wolfe and other high-profile pals to those with paws by stepping in front of the lens of photographer to the stars Christopher Ameruoso. The reason– to promote Last Chance for Animals’ ongoing “Adopt, Don’t Shop” photo campaign.

Striving to shine a light on the plight of all our friends with fur, fins and feathers, since its start in 1984 Last Chance for Animals (a non-profit founded by actor Chris DeRose) has illuminated the public consciousness about such urgent issues as freeing dogs from puppy mills, the horrors of the fur trade, the need to put an end to the Yulin dog meat festival, horse carriage cruelty, stopping the transport of animals to testing labs, and so much more.
