Our Best Bark Blog Award!

For us, one of the highlights of last weekend’s BlogPaws conference was receiving the Best Bark Blog award in the first annual BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards ceremony!

Our award is absolutely beautiful…

We are so honored and this means so much to us since it was selected by a panel of our professional peers and presented to us in such a great ceremony, emceed by Wendy Diamond herself!

Along with the great award, we also got the chance to donate 5,000 meals from Halo and Freekibble to the shelter or rescue of our choice. It was a tough decision but we selected the Seagoville Animal Shelter.

Seagoville, a small town near Dallas, has an inspirational story. Like many communities, the small town had a less than stellar reputation when it came to animal control…until Sgt. Karl Bailey came into the picture. With no shelter experience, in January 2011 Sgt. Bailey came in and ordered the gas chamber closed on his first day on the job. By the end of the year, he had saved 98 percent of the animals that came through shelter doors, showing that a municipal shelter on a tight budget can become a no-kill shelter.
