Oscars Gift Bags Include Animal Shelter Donation

While only a few famous faces will win coveted gold statuettes at the 86th annual Academy Awards, celebrities who don’t get the chance to make an acceptance speech will get a golden opportunity to play a supporting role in the ongoing effort to help homeless animals.

Inside L.A.-based marketing firm Distinctive Assets’ $55,000 “Everyone Wins at the Oscars” gift bag, which will be presented to each non-winning Oscar nominees in the Best Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress and Director categories, recipients will find that one of the most expensive items (with a $6,100 retail value) is also priceless, as a certificate for a donation of 10,000 meals of Halo, Purely for Pets natural pet food will give dogs and cats in the animal shelter or rescue of the star’s choice a taste of the good life.

The donations have been made possible thanks to the partnership of Freekibble.com and Halo, Purely for Pets– Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres’ pet food company– which together donate more than 1.5 million meals to shelter pets each year.

Halo, Purely for Pets also donated one million meals to shelter pets for the U.S. Postal Service Adopt a Shelter Pet Stamp Program, and sponsors the acclaimed PBS series Shelter Me.

“We know many celebrities are extremely generous,” said David Yaskulka, Halo’s vice president of marketing communications. “So we decided to gift them with something different that we think will mean a lot to them. We’re looking forward to making those donations!”

Along with helping dogs who are hoping to land a starring role in the heart and home of a forever pet parent, the swag bag will also make tails wag when the animal-loving luminaries head home, as each “Everyone Wins at the Oscars” gift bag will also contain some Halo Spot’s Stew food and Live-a-Littles treats for the pets of paparazzi magnets.
