Television viewers may remember him as the pal to protagonist Raven Baxter on the Disney Channel series That’s So Raven, but fans of Fidos and felines know actor Orlando Brown for his real life role as a friend to all with paws.
A long-time animal advocate who, over the course of his career, has helped to shine a spotlight on Ventura County Animal Services’ participation in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge; been named a National Ambassador for the American Humane Association, and filmed the video for his song “Hero” with adorable adoptables from Bark Avenue Foundation, Orlando Brown is the Executive Vice President of Rescue Me Incorporated, a Southern California non-profit organization which specializes in saving animals who often face their fate in shelters– special needs pets, seniors, and those who have suffered from neglect and abuse.
Recently acting as host for the media-only “Denim and Diamonds” fundraiser for the Woodland Hills animal welfare organization and as the celebrity guest at the 9th Annual Dog-Gone Cat-A-Strophic Hugs, Slurps and Slobbers Adoptathon at the Ventura County Camarillo Animal Shelter, the actor is now steering the attention of animal lovers toward Rescue Me Incorporated’s goal of creating a no-kill animal rescue sanctuary and rehabilitation facility.
In the following video, Orlando Brown takes viewers on a tour of the 20-acre area where the founders of Rescue Me Incorporated hope to turn reverie into reality.
