20503077As news hounds they have a talent for sniffing out a story, but on September 14th seven media professionals will transform from journalists into jesters as they raise funds for a paws cause while raising people’s spirits at the 9th annual New York’s Funniest Reporter Show.

The following journalists will help to set the stage for a brighter tomorrow for pets in need by stepping up on stage for a five-minute routine at the famous Comic Strip Live comedy club:

  • Lauren Babcock of The New York Post
  • Brooke Baldwin from CNN
  • Tamara Holder from Fox News
  • CJ Papa from Fios1 News
  • Andrew Schmertz from ARISE TV
  • Although not competing in this year’s jest fest, 2013’s returning champ Magee Hickey will also get the crowd giggling for a good cause.

After gauging the guffaws, judges Jeffrey Gurain (Comedy Central), New York’s Funniest Reporter co-producer Mark Goldman and Ryan McCormick will declare this year’s king or queen of comedy.

A happening with heart, New York’s Funniest Report benefits The Humane Society of New York, which has provided comfort and care for homeless, injured and ill animals for more than a century.

When: September 14, 2014, starting at 5 p.m.
