New York Pet Fashion Show Helps Dog Rescues

Fashion
Rovers are getting ready to rock the runway in retro-inspired designs at an annual display of dog duds that seamlessly weaves together fashion with compassion.

The largest event of its kind in the country, The New York Pet Fashion Show will celebrate its 11th year with “A Rescue Revolution: Peace, Love and Animal Rescue” showcase, with couture-conscious canines (many from Animal Haven, The Little Shelter and other New York shelters and rescue groups) showcasing Spot-tastic styles from the 60s and 70s.

Doggedly devoted followers of fashion are invited to cheer for the trend-setting tail-waggers as they tap into their inner Twiggy to give a nod to Mod designs, get groovy in hippie-influenced garments, and get down in disco era ensembles during Rescue’s on the Runway– one to the event’s three catwalk presentations. The evening will also include a Designer Couture Retro runway show and a 60s and 70s Costume Contest, which is open to the public.

Hosted once again by Maria Milito, the voice of The Big Apple’s Classic Rock station Q104.3, the event will benefit The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals.

Admission: $50 for a pre-show ticket, $60 at the door; $95 for entry in the 60s and 70s costume contest.

When: February 12, 2015 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Where: Historic Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City
