New York Pet Fashion Show Helps Animals in Need

Share with fellow dog lovers!

FashionPutting on the dog for a paws cause, couture-conscious canines commanded the catwalk in Spot on styles from the 60s and 70s at an annual event that seamlessly weaves fashion with philanthropy.

Famed designer of canine couture, Ada Nieves:

The New York Pet Fashion Show took place on February 12th at the Hotel Pennsylvania, with the theme “A Rescue Revolution: Peace, Love and Animal Rescue” to celebrate its 11th year. The largest event of its kind in the nation, fashion forward Fidos with families to love joined adorable adoptables from several New York shelters and rescue groups (Animal Haven and The Little Shelter among them) to rock the runway in retro-inspired wear ranging from bohemian hippie chic for our barking buddies to disco-influenced doggie duds.

Model/Legitimutt founder Kristy Hinze-Clark:

Several celebrities helped the stylish Spots enjoy a moment in the spotlight, including former Sports Illustrated/Victoria’s Secret model and founder of Legitimutt apparel and accessories for dogs, Kristy Hinze-Clark; singer Carol Douglas, who rose to the top of the charts in the 70s with her hit “Doctor’s Orders,” and the newest cast member of the Bravo series Blood, Sweat and Heels, Chantelle Fraser.

Reality star Chantelle Fraser took part in the Rover-fied runway event to help create a new reality for homeless animals:

A happening with heart, The New York Pet Fashion Show benefited The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, a non-profit which works with a coalition of more than 150 shelters and rescue organizations to find forever homes for New York City-area dogs and cats in need.
