“It’s a Hard Knock Life” for homeless dogs, but thanks to help from the national tour of Annie dogs saved by Stray Rescue of St. Louis can look forward to a brighter “Tomorrow.”
Stopping at The Fabulous Fox from December 2nd-7, 2014, during the show’s stay in St. Louis volunteers from Stray Rescue will be at the theater to collect donations for the paws cause and talk to those interested in fostering a dog. The December 3rd performance of the Tony Award-winning production has been dubbed “Annie’s Night to Benefit Stray Rescue,” with $10 from every ticket benefiting the no-kill organization. As an added treat, fans of Fidos will get the chance to meet Stray Rescue of St. Louis founder Randy Grim, who will sign Stray Rescue merchandise in the lobby before the curtain rises on the popular play. (Note: Theater buffs who love our barking buddies can also receive $10 off the ticket price to see Gilgamesh Taggett as Daddy Warbucks and Issie Swickle as Annie by using the promo code WOOF.)
Sunny the Rescue Dog Portrays Sandy
Taking a bow after each performance on the play’s current national tour, Sunny has become a pro at portraying Annie’s canine companion, Sandy. Only two days away from facing her fate at a Houston kill shelter when she was discovered by famed animal trainer Bill Berloni, the talented terrier mix previously appeared in the 2012 Broadway revival of the merry musical.
