Moby Promotes the Option of Pet Adoption with Music Video

Moby008He’s made our feet move to the beat of such hits as “Southside,” Extreme Ways” and “We Are All Made of Stars,” and now Grammy-nominated recording artist Moby has moved our souls by using his voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

In the minimalist video for “Almost Home,” a collaboration with Damien Jurado off of Moby’s album “Innocents,” the multi-platinum-selling singer with a heart of gold shares the spotlight with a few of the 400 adorable adoptable dogs and cats at the Best Friends Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills, California.

“It’s always a good time to adopt an animal from a shelter, but it seems like an especially good time to adopt an animal, as it’s the holiday /Channukah / Kwanzaa / Saturnalia / Festivus / season,” Moby said. “So, I hope you like the video, and I hope you’re able to provide a home for a dog or cat (or gerbil or snake or any other shelter animal) this season.”

As the video for “Almost Home” ends, viewers discover that some of the companion animals who enjoyed a moment of fame with Moby have landed starring roles in the hearts and homes of forever families.

Doggedly determined to help lower the staggering statistic of 9,000 dogs and cats who lose their lives in U.S. shelters each day, the Best Friends Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center and the six Los Angeles Animal Services Shelters are encouraging holiday adoptions by offering $25 “Adopt ‘Til You Drop” pet adoptions each weekend through January 6, 2014. All companion animals are micro-chipped, vaccinated and spayed or neutered.
