Helping to put shelter canines and cats across the country on the road to a better tomorrow, Marine Corps veteran Anthony L. Ungaro will travel on his Harley from New York to Los Angeles to drive home the need to choose the option of pet adoption as Rock & Rawhide launches the national campaign “Anthony’s Ride for Shelter Pets.”
Revved up over the prospect of combining his love of horsepower with his passion for helping Fidos and felines in need, the 29-year-old Brooklyn native–who, over the course of his eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, was deployed to Iraq during the 2004 Battle of Fallujah– says of his Pit Bull, Donny: “I attribute my successful transition from the military to college, to the positive experiences and responsibilities that come with having a pet in the family.”
Ungaro will mark the start of his 4,000-mile journey with a kick off event July 28th at Petco Union Square in New York City. During his travels he will stop at the following Petco stores to deliver toys, treats and supplies on behalf of Rock & Rawhide, a non-profit organization which strives to help save the lives of shelter pets by providing dogs and cats with distraction therapy through donations of toys, blankets, tough chew items and more:
- July 28th at 10 a.m. Petco Union Square at 860 Broadway in New York City
- July 31st at 5 p.m. Petco Sterling Heights at 13701 Lakeside Circle in Sterling Heights, Michigan
