Lucy Pet Foundation Marks World Spay Day on The Hallmark Channel

February is known as the month of love and, before we collectively turn the calendar, animal lovers can show dogs and cats in need how much we love them by helping to ‘fix’ the problem of pet overpopulation on the final Thursday in February — World Spay Day.

Promoting the pet holiday, Joey Herrick, the founder of the Lucy Pet Foundation, and the foundation’s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Karen Halligan will make an appearance on The Hallmark Channel program Home and Family. Airing February 24th and February 27th, the segment will include a virtual tour of the Lucy Pet Foundation’s state-of-the-art mobile clinic, which in 2016 alone provided spay/neuter procedures for over 4,000 companion animals and offered low-cost vaccinations, licensing, deworming, microchipping and other medical services.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Surgery in Los Angeles

To mark World Spay Day, pet parents in the L.A. area can call 1-855-499-5829 or email [email protected] to register for low-cost spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations for their dog or cat, taking place on February 28th on the grounds of the Superior Grocery store (10211 South Avalon Boulevard, Los Angeles). Dogs and cats from L.A. City shelters will be at the event, meeting potential forever families!

About The Lucy Pet Foundation

Named in honor of the homeless and pregnant Chihuahua who became a beloved part of the Herrick family, the Lucy Pet Foundation is striving to stop the loss of more than 80,000 dogs and cats who face their fate each week in the U.S. shelter system.

The registered charity is making strides toward obtaining its goal thanks in part to the sale of USA-made Lucy Pet Products, which can be found in specialty stores from coast to coast. One hundred percent of the profits from sales of the family-owned and operated business’ many pet items, including pet shampoos/leave-in conditioners and Lucy Pet Cats Incredible cat litter, help to fund the foundation’s ongoing efforts to create a better tomorrow for companion animals in need.
