As a country music singer, Lucas Hoge has performed in venues around the country, but the crooner just might have found his most appreciative audience in the dogs he helps to rescue, who no doubt find the sound of the P.E.T.S pet transport truck pulling up to the DeSoto County Animal Shelter to be music to their ears.
Hoge, whose crooning credits include a song featured on the CW series Smallville, has been a Superman for our four-legged friends for years. Having already volunteered at several rescue organizations, in late 2009 the singer became a part of the P.E.T.S. pet transport team, headed by founder Kyle Petersen.
Fans who find themselves tapping their feet to the beat of Last Chance Highway‘s theme song can visit the singer/songwriter’s site, which showcases his two passions– music and saving animals. The site has a Pets of the Month feature in the hope of finding forever homes for the pets at two rescue organizations, Nashville Cat Rescue and Proverbs 1210 Rescue.
Follow the canine-caring chronicles of P.E.T.S owner Kyle Petersen, real estate agent/animal advocate Shelly Bookwalter and Lucas Hoge (who is a father to four Fidos and two felines– all rescues) on Last Chance Highway each Saturday evening at 8E/7C.
