Kristen Bell Helps #Down2Adopt Campaign

Down2Adopt
Her voice brought the character of Anna to life in the animated silver screen success Frozen, and now actress Kristen Bell is using her voice to speak up for shelter dogs.

In a recently unleashed PSA made possible thanks to a partnership between The Shelter Pet Project, the Ad Council, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund, the former Veronica Mars star articulates the thoughts of Molly, a canine who offers a light-hearted look at a serious subject matter– pet homelessness.

The cute clip is one in a series of video pet biographies which will air on more than 33,000 stations during the year-long #Down2Adopt campaign which also features the voices of fellow animal-loving luminaries Carly Aquilino from the MTV series Girl Code and Charlamagne Tha God, host of Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne on MTV2.

The videos premiered September 30th during an episode of the MTV2 series Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne which also included guest Vinny Guadignino discussing his dogged devotion to shelter pets and an appearance by Charm, a pup from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey who is looking to land a starring role in the life of a loving pet parent.

Along with the ads, fans of Fidos can check out MTV2’s Instagram account to follow the journey of Joey, a 2-month-old Boxer/Pit Bull seen at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards’ “Pup-arazzi Pen,” as he embarks on a mission to find a forever family to love.

Throughout the year the #Down2Adopt PSAs and social media extensions will help to highlight the need to help the 6 to 8 million adoptable dogs and cats who annually enter the U.S. shelter system.
