Katherine Heigl Films Video to Help Pets in Need

Katherine
Soon to star as a CIA analyst in the new NBC drama series State of Affairs, Katherine Heigl has stepped into her real life role as an animal advocate in a just unleashed YouTube video to help shine a spotlight on the plight of the approximately seven million shelter animals across the country who each year hope to be cast as a companion in the life of a forever pet parent.

HeiglRaising both awareness of, and funds for, the paws cause, JustOne– the pet product line co-founded by the Emmy Award-winning actress and her mother, Nancy Heigl– and Orapup, the first pet tongue cleaner to beat bad dog breath, have announced a partnership. Proceeds from the sale of every JustOne and Orapup item will help in the creation of a no-kill nation through the rescue of animals who are facing their fate in kill shelters; transportation of shelter animals to safe surroundings; rehabilitation programs to heal those who have suffered from abuse or neglect, and the funding of spay/neuter initiatives to aid efforts to curb pet overpopulation.

Among the items available are the Orapup Dog Breath Starter Kit; the JustOne/Orapup Save a Life Pack, which includes a JustOne dog collar and an Orapup Starter Kit complete with a brush and a Lickies supplement bottle; and for fans of Fidos and famous faces, the Save a Life Pack Plus, which not only offers the Orapup Starter Kit and JustOne dog collar, but also a woven reflective safety leash and an autographed photo of Katherine Heigl.

“At JustOne we’re proud to be partnered with Orapup to help enhance the lives of companion pets,” said Katherine Heigl, who co-established The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation to honor her late brother’s love of animals. “All purchases you make of JustOne partner products or donations make a difference.”

“We applaud the Heigls’ commitment to end animal cruelty and are proud to be partnered with their great cause,” said Kainoa Clark, marketing director and pet advisor at Orabrush, the company behind Orapup. “With so many dogs deprives of the comforts of loving homes, we make it a priority to support local and national organizations dedicated to the well-being and safety of all dogs and companion pets.”
