Today we’ve got a DIY tutorial from Bethany North, who recently supplied us with a tutorial on making your own dog collars. Today’s DIY project is easy on the budget and on your time, taking just a few minutes to prepare from items you probably already have on hand.
You know that your dog will pretty much play with anything, including chewing on your shoes. Yikes! If that is something that you want to avoid, making a ball toss toy will give your dog hours of fun and save your clothing from being destroyed in the process.
Supplies:
• Rope, 9 feet
• 1 tennis ball
Start out by placing one tennis ball in a clamp. Use a drill to puncture a hole directly through the tennis ball so that one hole is on either side. Thread the length of rope through the hole, and tie a simple knot on top of the ball. Burn the edges of the rope carefully to prevent it from fraying, and tie another knot at the end of the rope.
Of course, this is an incredibly simple toy, but we all know that our dogs take pleasure in the small things! The length of rope will allow you the flexibility to throw the ball a longer distance so that your dog can chase after it as you pull it away. If your dog needs more stimulation in the house or a little exercise, this will allow you to throw the tennis ball around indoors with having to worry about breaking a lamp in the process. Hours of fun!
