Guinness World Record Attempt to Benefit Service Dogs, Inc.

ServiceDogs
Taking great strides to help both people and pets, dogs can enjoy a constitutional with their human companion, make their mark on history by toppling a world record and see if they might be the next celebrity Spot at the 16th annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk.

Activities

    • Austin area pet parents can promenade with their pup on a 0.5 mile trek around Palmer Events Center. (The walk includes two water stops for strollers on both two- and four legs.  For pups who need to go potty, a poop bag is also provided.)
    • After the dog walk, find out if Fido’s future may include a spot on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame during Paw Search, when you can introduce your talented tail-wagger to Bobbi Colorado, a full service animal actor talent provider.
    • Attempting to prove that, as the old adage states, everything is bigger in Texas, shedding Spots will try to break the event’s previous record of 201 pounds of collected canine fur as they help to create the World’s Biggest Hair Ball.

…plus games, prizes, pet products and live entertainment!

A happening with heart, proceeds from the event will benefit Service Dogs Inc., which trains former shelter and rescue dogs to assist individuals with physical challenges through their valued role as a hearing or service dog.

Registration: $30 through May 16th; $40 day of the walk

When: May 17, 2014 starting at 9 a.m.

Where: Palmer Events Center at 900 Barton Springs Road in Austin, Texas
