We have some very exciting news to share! As you remember, last month we participated in a FURminator project that involved 25 bloggers writing about the FURminator deShedding Tool for National Hairball Awareness Day. (We created the Hairy Potter…which we are quite proud of!)
Well, one of the 25 bloggers was to be awarded a $500 donation to the cat-related non-profit of their choice…and we won!! We’re so proud to be able to donate this money to the Humane Society of Williamson County, our local shelter! Our latest cat adoption–our beautiful Inca–was at this no-kill shelter!
Like shelters everywhere, they’ve had tough times in this economy. Late last year, the pump on their water well went out as they were trying to complete a building renovation in time for winter and they were really scrambling for money. We were out there just last month for Strut Your Mutt, a fun fundraiser, and got to see the finished building which is such a nice addition for their dogs. Their cats are housed in the main house. (The entire property is a former home; it’s a 22-acre property with a brick home, former horse barn, and lots of room for dog walking.)
Many thanks to FURminator and Caroline of Romeo the Cat for organizing this great event!
