From her childhood chum Nibbles the chipmunk to her many canine companions, pets always played starring roles in the life of actress Elizabeth Taylor, and the love that the silver screen icon felt for our four-legged friends lives on through a facet of The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF).
Understanding the healing power that a pet’s unconditional friendship provides to a person’s mind, body and spirit as they fight against disease, since 1991 The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation has given support to various chapters of Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS), a non-profit organization which offers hope and help to pet parents with HIV/AIDS, the elderly and people with chronic illness with veterinary care, pet food, foster care, transportation and other services.
The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation is currently providing funding to PAWS San Diego, which has helped the pets of those in financial distress, dealing with illness and the vulnerable in the community for more than two decades, and PAWS’ flagship chapter,PAWS San Francisco.
