Actress Dee Wallace, who starred in one of the most beloved movies in cinematic history, has stepped in front of the camera to shine a spotlight on the history of the first no-kill shelter in Kansas City and one of the oldest humane societies in the nation.
After 100 years of helping homeless, abandoned or abused companion animals, The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is celebrating the start of a second century of service with a look at their past and present, thanks to help from the E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial star.
