Today has been a little quiet here at DogTipper; we decided to take off today and enjoy the predicted 80 degree weather! We hopped in the car and headed to the Texas Hill Country for a visit to one of our favorite state parks: Inks Lake State Park. Inks Lake is a constant level lake (unlike many of the Texas lakes which have been hard-hit by drought).
The lake has a wonderful crushed granite floor, meaning very little mud and crystal clear conditions:
The lake water was still cold but that didn’t stop Irie and Tiki:
As much as they love wading, both dogs really loved seeing the Canada geese as well. Irie and Tiki are very good, not barking or trying to charge at the birds, but they definitely love to see them:
If you think you and your dog might be traveling to Inks Lake State Park–or you’re looking for other dog-friendly Texas destinations, please be sure to check out our DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs guidebook, available in bookstores and online!
