Fans of comedy and canines are tickled pick at the news that Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges is a stand-up guy in more ways than one, as he has just welcomed a rescue Rover into his heart and home.
The funny man, known by comedy lovers across the pond for his appearances on Comedy Central UK, Live at the Apollo and Stand up for the Week, has adopted a 10-month-old golden Labrador named Annabell from Dogs Trust Glasgow, the Scottish Daily Record reports.
Recently in the news for finding a forever home for Snuffles, the Belgian Shepherd with two noses, Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre in Glasgow is one of 18 Dogs Trust rehoming centers in the United Kingdom and Ireland which collectively provide comfort and care for approximately 16,000 homeless canines at any given time. The largest dog welfare charity in the UK, Dogs Trust recently announced that the charity’s 19th center– an eco-friendly facility for 120 homeless pets–is scheduled to open in Essex in the summer of 2014.
