Chevy Chase to Attend SPCA of Westchester County Fundraiser

SPCA Dog Walk
From his days on Saturday Night Live and silver screen successes like Vacation and Foul Play to his recent stint on Community, Chevy Chase has long been known as one of comedy’s king of cut ups, but on May 3, 2014 the funny man/multi-pet parent will take on a different role as he and his wife Jayni cut the official ribbon to open the SPCA of Westchester County Dog Walk and Pet Fair.

Activities

Fans of Fidos and felines will take steps to create a brighter future for our four-legged friends with each step they take on the 2.5-mile walk around FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, New York at the start of the fundraiser, followed by an afternoon filled with toe-tapping and tail-wagging tunes, adorable adoptables, fun and games for canine-loving kids, shopping for a souvenir of the day in the vendor village, and much more.

Champ the Rescue Dog

Champ, a pit bull pup who was given a new lease on life thanks to the organization, will act as grand marshal of the event and will lead the way at the start of the dog walk. Just five months old when he arrived at the SPCA in late January 2014, today the once abandoned and horribly abused puppy has a loving forever home with a Yorktown family.

Founded in 1883, the SPCA of Westchester County is a no-kill animal shelter which annually finds forever families for approximately 1,500 companion animals. Funds from the fundraiser will benefit the animals in the shelter’s care and the non-profit’s law enforcement programs.

When: May 3, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: FDR State Park in Yorktown, New York
