Brushing your dog’s teeth isn’t just a great idea for your dog’s dental health; healthy teeth and gums can help prevent all kinds of diseases and infections throughout the entire body. Brushing your dog’s teeth doesn’t require any special equipment…you can even use Q-tips® as a doggie toothbrush!
To brush your dog’s teeth with Q-tips, you can dip each in beef or chicken broth if you like, especially if your dog resists teeth brushing. At pet specialty stores, you’ll also find dog toothpaste you can use, usually flavored as well. (You *don’t* want to use human toothpaste because of the flouride.) As with a traditional toothbrush, use the Q-tips cotton swab to clean along the gumline and between teeth as best as you can.
With the low cost of Q-tips, you can use as many as you need to get the job done…then dispose of them when you’re done. Both Q-tips® and Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs make great doggie toothbrushes if you’re new to tooth brushing or if you’re on the road and don’t want to carry any additional toothbrush for Fido!
