Celebrity Book Launch Celebrates Senior Dog’s Adoption

Helping homeless dogs and cats turn the page to a new chapter in their lives, Charlie at The Pom Springs Hotel – the true tale of a senior rescue Pomeranian who found pet parents to love – was recently celebrated with a book launch that brought together high profile animal lovers and VIP (Very Important Pups).

Written by entrepreneur (and pet parent of the story’s protagonist) Lara Eurdolian King, Charlie at The Pom Springs Hotel is a children’s book based on the real life adoption of an elderly Pomeranian who lived in the hotel lobby as he waited for a forever home.

As I get ready for bed that evening, just like every night, I look up at the stars and wish for my forever family to find me soon.

Along with promoting pet adoption, the children’s book is also helping to create happily ever afters for homeless dogs and cats, as at least $1 from each sale is donated to help further the efforts of animal welfare and rescue organizations.

To mark the launch of Charlie at The Pom Springs Hotel, glitterati gathered at Animal Haven Soho Loft on November 2nd for an event hosted by acclaimed costume designer Patricia Field (Sex and The City, Emily in Paris), comedian Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live).

At the event, author Lara Eurdolian stated, “We’re thrilled and humbled to see the warm reception of Charlie’s story. This book is all about embracing different families and the love that unites them. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re honored to share it with the world.”

Fashion legend and event co-host Patricia Fields, who wrote the foreward for the book, added, “I’m delighted to be a part of this heartwarming tale of acceptance and friendship. Charlie’s story is a reminder that love knows no boundaries.”

Guests enjoyed drinks from Soiree and a candy bar arranged by Blobs, as well as Tarot “Pom” readings and smooches from Animal Haven rescue pooch Papi, who manned the kissing booth.

Fun was also had by four-legged attendees, who mingled at a pup lounge by LeSure Pets, nommed on treats from Badlands Pets, enjoyed grooming services and premium pet care products from Pet Life Unlimited, and received doggy bags from Bond Vet.

In a nod to the ending of the book, when Charlie moves to New York City, Royce and Rockets, known for their pet-friendly luggage, packed bags full of Lara and Charlie’s must-haves from the event.

Guests and adoptable pets were also pampered with gift bags from Thrive Causemetics, Bigger Than Beauty  skincare from Thrive Causemetics, RPZL hair blow-outs, Print All Over Me custom Charlie totes, and Powderful.

All of the book proceeds from the star-studded evening benefited Animal Haven in New York City, which has helped dogs and cats throughout the Tri-state area since 1967.
