Actress Jamie Chung, who has portrayed the warrior Mulan on the ABC series Once Upon a Time and lent her voice to the character of Go Go in the big screen animated adventure Big Hero 6, took on the real life role of a loving pet parent when she adopted Ewok.
This canine has been a co-star in the life of his famous mother and father since March 2015 (when he was found, not in a galaxy far, far away, but rather at Saving SPOT! Dog Rescue in Los Angeles). Ewok recently stepped in front of a camera with the actress for Petco’s “Think Adoption First” campaign, urging others to cast a homeless dog or cat as a forever furry family member.
“Opening my heart and home to an animal in need was the obvious choice and the special bond Ewok and I share is more than I could’ve dreamed,” the star stated. “Ewok has definitely changed my life in the best way possible and seeing his playful personality develop has been so heartwarming. I encourage everyone who is thinking of welcoming a pet into their family to adopt, not shop.”
By filming for Petco’s “Think Adoption First” campaign Jamie Chung has followed in the footsteps of fellow famous friends of Fidos and felines as Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (the star of the TV Land series Younger), Tyson Ross of the San Diego Padres, pro skateboarder/rally cross driver Bucky Lasek, roller derby champ Bonnie Thunders and Surfing Hall of Fame member Taylor Knox.
