The Mindy Project’s Ike Barinholtz Promotes Pet Adoption

Remy
As Nurse Morgan Tookers on the comedy series The Mindy Project he’s known for being doggedly devoted to his many canine companions, and in real life actor Ike Barinholtz has shown his affection for our furry friends by speaking for a shelter dog who wants to bring laughter to the life of a pet parent.

In a comedic clip for Heavy Petting, a pet adoption series of webisodes that can seen seen on Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls website, the actor lends his voice to Remy, a one-year-old Pit Bull mix with a soft spot for squeaky toys. As smart as he is sweet, this playful pup knows how to ‘sit’ and is eager to learn more tricks. Remy is at the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City, waiting to be a part of a forever family!

By providing the voice of Remy, Ike Barinholtz has followed the lead of fellow famous friends of Fidos as former Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza and former Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney, who have also taken part in Heavy Petting‘s tongue in cheek, dating app-inspired look at pet adoption. Future stars who will show their support for the paws cause include Parks and Recreation co-stars Nick Offerman and Aziz Ansari, Paul Scheer from The League and Fresh Off the Boat, and more.

Partnering with the ASPCA and animal shelters across the country, Heavy Petting was launched on the Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls website in October 2015. Along with shining a spotlight on pet adoption, the Heavy Petting web page also highlights the importance of being a foster to a shelter dog or cat and volunteering at your local animal shelter.
