Ali Fedotowsky, Katherine Heigl Save Sochi Puppies

Bg-Z3xVIYAA-ziLReality personality Ali Fedotowsky, who made the sojourn to Sochi to report on the winter Olympics games for E! News, found herself in the headlines on her return home for her efforts to help the city’s stray dogs.

Before embarking on her trip to Russia the former star of The Bachelorette Tweeted : “There’s nothing like a girl’s love for her dog. Saying goodbye to my puppy broke my heart: (” Missing her own canine companion, Fedotowsky found her heart reaching out to help the multitude of homeless dogs she encountered on Sochi’s streets– dogs in danger of losing their lives due to an overpopulation of strays in the vicinity of the Olympic venues.

Continuing the compassionate spirit shown by dog-loving Olympians during the games, the host of NBC’s 1st Look is helping two homeless puppies– Adler and Sochi– get new leases on life, made possible in part by actress Katherine Heigl:

People magazine reports that Ali Fedotowsky was met at the Los Angeles International Airport by the movie star and her mother Nancy, who together established the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation in 2008 to help companion animals in need.

Both puppies are presently under quarantine and receiving medical care, with Sochi– who is battling parvo– to go to his forever home with US bobsled and skeleton team marketing and communications director Amanda Bird upon his recovery.
