Chart-topper Leona Lewis, who will soon unleash her new CD Christmas, with Love, has put a song in the hearts of animal lovers by joining Dogs Trust’s #PressPaws campaign, which asks potential pet parents to pause and ponder the prospect of a lifelong commitment to a canine companion before adding a four-legged friend to the family this holiday season.
Posing with her four-pawed pal Lilly, the platinum-selling recording artist with a heart of gold is just one of the animal-loving luminaries taking part in the campaign, which was created to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the charity’s famous slogan “A Dog is for Life…not just for Christmas.”
The largest dog welfare charity in the United Kingdom, caring for 16,000 canines at 18 rehoming centers each year, Dogs Trust requests that dog devotees literally lend a hand in spreading the message by taking to Twitter to post a picture of their pup’s paws pressed against their own hands, including the hashtag #presspaws and @DogsTrust. Fans of Fidos can see their own photo and look at the campaign images of others Dogs Trusts’ #press paws Tumblr.
