My 8-9 month old husky female pup pees whenever she is scared, excited, or thinks she’s in trouble. I’m at a loss as to what to do. We don’t scold her and try to just ignore and then clean it up afterwards.
We got her at 10 weeks old. She spent 2 weeks with a family that is more into yelling and punishing a dog. When we got her she crawled on her belly to me. –Kathleen
Dear Kathleen,
I have a Northern Breed as well so I understand. In cases where I have a puppy who seems to be lacking in their natural confidence or may have had that affected by humans I recommend using Bach Flower Essences. The essences are so powerful in assisting in rebalancing emotional issues that may not respond to training.
I would use: Larch- to instill more confidence, Mimulus to release known fears and Crab Apple to cleanse the old issue. You can find these at any health food store or online. Place half a dropper full of each in her water 2x a day for 13 days. I know it sounds too simple but I have seen the most dramatic changes in dogs using these essences.
Paws Up!
