Butler and Lena have been sitting on the sidelines, waiting patiently for the day when they become players on a ‘home team,’ and thanks to an assist from two stars of the American Hockey League the Pit Bulls are one step closer to achieving their goal.
Mike Latta and Nate Schmidt of the Hershey Bears teamed up with Bears defenseman Tyson Strachan’s organization Strachan Strays to shine a spotlight on adorable adoptables at Pitties. Love. Peace., an all-volunteer non-profit which houses homeless Pit Bulls and bully mixes with fosters or at Playful Pups Retreat in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
Center Mike Latta let Butler take center stage as the camera rolled for an adoption clip about the comical canine. A playful pocket Pit Bull who has been in the care of Pitties. Love. Peace. for more than a year ,Butler is a Spot with skills who will impress any pet parent with his knowledge of commands and tricks. In need of a guardian who will make him stick by rules and boundaries, Butler should live in a home without cats.
Defenseman Nate Schmidt became fast friends with Lena, a kind-hearted canine with a soft spot for puppies. Lena, who loves playing with toys and her four-pawed pals, is hoping to find a tranquil forever home, preferably with a barking buddy to keep her company (with the exception of a dominant female, who would not be a good match.)
