Actress Britt Robertson portrays a young woman with a passion for fashion in the new Netflix series Girlboss, and offscreen the star has shared her passion for compassion by starring with her rescue dogs in Best Friends Animal Society’s “I Saved My Best Friend” campaign.
“Buddy and Clyde are my most loyal companions,” the star stated to raise public awareness of the estimated 5,500 homeless companion animals who face their fate in US animal shelters every day. “They are also each other’s best friend. I couldn’t imagine my life without them. It breaks my heart to think that there are unwanted dogs in the world. Please adopt from a shelter or rescue. By working together, we can save them all.”
By posing for the paws cause, Robertson (who TV viewers will remember from the CBS series Under the Dome and Life UnExpected on The CW network) has joined an ever-growing cast of actors, musicians and sports figures who have used their star wattage to shine a spotlight on the option of pet adoption through Best Friends Animal Society’s photo campaign.
Other animal-loving luminaries who have raised awareness of the renowned animal welfare organization’s mission to Save Them All include Allison Janney of the hit CBS series Mom, Shameless star Emmy Rossum, movie star Amanda Seyfried, Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, race car driver Josef Newgarden, Designated Survivor cast member Maggie Q, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk and Robertson’s former Under the Dome co-star Rachelle Lefevre, among others.
Since its start in 1984, Best Friends Animal Society has become a leader in the no-kill movement.
