Well, the calendar may say it’s autumn…but summer is sticking around here in Central Texas. We took advantage of the warm weather to give Irie and Tiki another swim day, this time enjoying a day trip at nearby Lake Georgetown.
The US Corps of Engineers parks that line this lake on the San Gabriel River are dog-friendly (except for the improved swimming beach at Russell Park). Dogs must remain on leashes no longer than six feet.
Irie and Tiki loved their day swimming and exploring. Irie likes to swim but Tiki prefers just to stand in the shallow water.
The native grasses were taller this year than I’ve ever seen them, evidence of the wet summer and fall we’ve enjoyed.
It was a beautiful day — and we almost had the lake all to ourselves!
