On the grounds of a museum which celebrates the American West’s past, dogs and cats in need will get the chance to celebrate the start of a bright future with forever families during the NKLA Super Adoption.
The adoption event is presented by BOBS from Skechers, which recently helped fashion forward fans of Fidos take steps toward creating a better tomorrow for homeless pets thanks to a limited edition canine- and cat-themed shoe collection benefiting Best Friends Animal Society. On June 4 – 5, L.A. area potential pet parents are invited to The Autry at Griffith Park to meet more than 1,000 adorable adoptables from NKLA Coalition partners. While the adoption process and cost to welcome a dog or cat into your heart and home will vary, adoption fees will start as low as $10.
All of the rescue and shelter dogs and cats attending the Best Friends Animal Society event have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are up to date with their vaccinations. While supplies last, Fidos and felines who find their forever family at the event will go home with an adoption kit which includes leashes, collars, coupons and much more.
Celebrity Spotting
Each year during NKLA Super Adoption an array of animal-loving luminaries use their star wattage to shine a spotlight on dogs and cats who are hoping to be cast in the real life role of a pet parent’s furry family member. Past high-profile pals to those with paws who have gladly taken on ‘supporting’ roles by showcasing adorable adoptables on stage include Shameless star Emmy Rossum, Moby, Academy Award winner and NCIS: Los Angeles star Linda Hunt, Castle cast member Seamus Dever, Under the Dome/Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre, actress Maria Conchita Alonso, Battlestar Galactica‘s Tricia Helfer, Breaking Dawn: Part 2 star Marlane Barnes, Sex, Drugs and Rock n’ Roll cast member Elaine Hendrix, and many more. Which celebrities will be showing their support for the paws cause this year?
Other Activities
Along with looking for a buddy who barks or a pal who purrs, attendees at the family-friendly event can also chow down on delectable dishes served from L.A.’s most popular food trucks.
