Race for the Rescues Portland Helps Pets in Need

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Rescue TrainThis fall dog devotees and fans of felines will make great strides toward creating a better future for our four-legged friends in need when they step up to the starting line for The Rescue Train’s second annual Race for the Rescues in Portland, Oregon.

Taking place October 11th at Portland International Raceway road course, revved up runners will raise their heart rate while they raise funds for paws causes during a 5K or 10K. Strollers will enjoy a 1-mile constitutional with their canine companion, while animal-loving little ones can jog for the sake of dogs and cats in the 1K Kids Fun Run.

A day of play for a higher purpose, the event will also include an expo that’s free to the public. Among the activities lined up for this year are:

  • toe-tapping (and tail-wagging!) live music.
  • a Rockin’ Adoption Show and awards presentation.
  • beer garden.
  • Adorable adoptables from area rescue organizations who will race right into your heart!

Celebrity Host

Actress Claire Coffee from the NBC series Grimm will step into the role of host of the event.
